The Athletic Leadership Council is hosting a “Celebrating Differences Walk” on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the North Londonderry Rail Trail.
According to ALC adviser Mrs. Rich, the purpose of the walk is to help “celebrate differences in our Londonderry community.”
“After much thought,” Rich said, “[ALC members] decided it is best to support all members of this community, rather than focusing on one specific disability.”
The hope is, according to Rich, that as the Londonderry community learns more about various disabilities, bullying can be prevented.
“After all,” Rich said, “knowledge is power.”
All members of the Londonderry community are welcome to participate in the Celebrating Differences Walk and can sign up through the following link. If you cannot attend the walk but would like to support the cause by purchasing a shirt, you can do so through the website. The registration fee is $10 (and includes a shirt) and will be collected at the start of the walk.
