Introduction to Foods:
This introductory course for every learner covers basic food preparation and kitchen safety and sanitation. We emphasize making food to sustain our bodies and to keep trying new flavors! Many labs will provide experience in the standard kitchen. We make breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and desserts to set you up for success to feed yourselves in the future. If you like to cook or if you are looking to gain valuable experience while having fun, this is the class for you!
Foods Around the World:
This course is designed for the adventurous student who is interested in a more in-depth study of tasty international food. You will learn advanced food preparation, global cuisine and culture, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen. Labs and projects will provide the learner with complete hands-on experience!

Baking for Fun:
This brand-new course will take you through the art and science of baking! In this class you will learn how to bake breads, pastries, desserts, and more! You will also find yourself learning some serious decorating techniques, and how to use some fun equipment. Wow, baking is FUN! Intro to Foods is a prerequisite for this course.

Clothing & Fashion 1:
This class will focus on basic sewing skills and construction techniques. Major emphasis is given to clothing construction and design, and fun individual projects. You will learn skills that will last a lifetime! Interested in a career in fashion or interior design? This class is for you! Interested in learning hand sewing and machine basics, all while having fun doing it? This class is also for you!
Clothing & Fashion 2:
This class is for students who want to fine-tune skills learned in Clothing & Fashion 1. Emphasis is given to selecting appropriate fabrics and patterns while constructing quality garments and individual projects. You will also learn about fiber identification, fabric construction and careers in fashion. This is a hands-on course offering valuable experience as students pick independent projects to complete. Clothing & Fashion 1 is a prerequisite for this course.

Early Childhood Development:
This class is designed to help students learn about the development of a child from their prenatal stage up to school-age children. The learner will also examine and experience the responsibilities, rewards and challenges of working with children and providing for their care. The focus will be on the cognitive and social development of a child.
Skills for the Real World:
This class will take the learner through the stages of young adulthood, and beyond. Topics covered include- Skills for school, skills for self, skills for work, and skills for life. Study and work habits, getting to know your personality styles, resume writing, college seeking, job keeping, apartment hunting, budgeting, earning credit and keeping a good score, and countless more life skills will be taught in this semester-long class. Get ready to take on life beyond high school in this class!
Unified Foods (formerly known as Foods Interactive)
*Prerequisite: Approval of the instructor
This course is designed to allow students with good food preparation skills the opportunity to share their knowledge with students who need one-on-one assistance to succeed in the foods lab. The course will allow the student instructors the opportunity to work with special education students to help them select and prepare nutritious meals and snacks.
Special education students will have the opportunity to work in a truly inclusive environment. In addition to working with their peers, the student instructors may be responsible for leading the class in one project of personal choice. This course is an excellent choice for those students considering a career in education or working with the special needs population.
