Breaking News: Smoke detected in woodshop classroom, fire alarm pulled
At 1:50 pm, Head Custodian Charlie Wilton pulled the fire alarm after woods teacher Mr. Ciccarello saw smoke coming from the dust collection system in the woodshop classroom.
Principal Mr. Parent sent an email to parents after the incident describing what occurred. The following is an excerpt from that email.
“[School administrators] evacuated the entire building as a safety precaution, and the Londonderry Fire Department immediately arrived to assess the situation. They determined after the smoke subsided and confirmation that there was no heat or fire present as a result, that it was safe to return to the main building at 2:03 pm. Students returned to gather their belongings before being released to the buses.”
