The top ten new ways to fry up your fries

Fries are the center of a lot of people’s diets, they seem go with a lot of things. They go with Chicken fingers, chicken wings, nuggets, burgers, pulled pork, but they are also great by themselves. They are greasy, hot, crispy,golden, salty, fried or baked, delicious, crunchy goodness. oooooo my mouth is watering just thinking about it. But they could be better. They could have more texture, more flavor, more warm wholesomeness. I give you ten things to fry up a new era of fries.

 

  1. Garlic and Parmesan  Make Garlic Fries (No. 4), adding 1 teaspoon chopped rosemary with the garlic; toss with the parsley, 1/4 cup shredded parmesan and the zest of 1 lemon. Season with salt.
  2. Buffalo Fries Whisk 1/2 cup each crumbled blue cheese and sour cream with cup each mayonnaise and buttermilk and grated garlic clove; season with salt and pepper. Deep-fry 1 pound crinkle-cut fries in 375 degrees F vegetable oil, 3 to 7 minutes. Melt 1 teaspoon butter with 3 tablespoons Buffalo hot sauce and 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar; toss with the warm fries. Serve with the blue cheese sauce.
  3. Old Bay Fries Combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles, 1 tablespoon each chopped dill and parsley and 2 teaspoons each lemon juice, chopped capers and Dijon mustard. Bake 1 pound crinkle-cut fries, then toss with 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning. Serve with the tartar sauce.
  4. Poutine Bake 1 pound crinkle-cut fries. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a saucepan. Add 1 large chopped shallot and 2 teaspoons chopped thyme; cook until tender, 4 minutes. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons flour; cook, whisking, until lightly browned, 5 minutes. Whisk in 1 cup each water and beef demi-glace and 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened, 3 to 4 minutes. Pour over the fries and top with 8 ounces cheese curds. Bake at 400 degrees F until the cheese softens, 5 minutes.
  5. Chinese Five-Spice Fries Mix 1/2 cup ketchup with 1/4 cup hoisin sauce and 1 tablespoon each Sriracha and honey. Bake 1 pound shoestring fries, then toss with 1/2 teaspoon each Chinese five-spice powder and brown sugar; season with salt and pepper. Serve with the spicy ketchup.
  6. Everything Fries Bake 1 pound crinkle-cut fries, then toss with 2 tablespoons melted butter and 1 teaspoon each sesame seeds, poppy seeds and caraway seeds and 1/2 teaspoon each granulated garlic and kosher salt. Top with sliced smoked salmon, sour cream and dill.
  7. Philly Cheesesteak Fries Bake 1 pound crinkle-cut fries. Saute 1 small chopped bell pepper and 1 small sliced onion in olive oil until tender. Top the fries with the onion-pepper mixture, 8 ounces chopped deli-sliced roast beef and 1 cup jarred cheese sauce or shredded provolone. Bake at 425 degrees F until the cheese is bubbling, 7 to 8 minutes.
  8. Ballpark Fries Bake 1 pound crinkle-cut fries; transfer to a large ovenproof skillet. Top with 4 sliced hot dogs and 1 cup each drained sauerkraut and grated cheddar. Bake at 425 degrees F until the cheese is melted, 7 to 8 minutes. Top with ketchup, mustard and relish.
  9. Baked Chili Cheese Fries Bake 1 pound shoestring fries. Brown 1 pound ground beef, 1 chopped small onion and 1 chopped small red bell pepper in 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet. Add 1 1/2 cups salsa, 1/2 cup water and 1 tablespoon each chili powder, brown sugar and tomato paste; season with salt and simmer 10 minutes. Top with the fries and 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar. Bake at 400 degrees F until the cheese melts, 10 minutes. Top with sour cream and scallions.
  10. Cheesy Fries Put on as much cheese as you desire and bake for 10-12 minutes or until all cheese has melted
