Community Service Club hosts the first “LHS Walks for ALS” fundraiser on October 31
Partnering with the ALS Association, the Community Service Club is hosting the first-ever “LHS Walks for ALS” this Halloween weekend. The original date was scheduled for Saturday, October 30, but due to impending rain, the event was moved to Sunday, October 31 from 10 am-11 am at the LHS track and field.
There will be a student speaker from the Community Service Club board, followed by co-advisor Mrs. Giguiere and the keynote speaker, Shawn Sullivan. Sullivan is the son of Gary Sullivan who recently lost his life to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). After the speakers, the walk will commence.
There will be two different options for the walk that participants can choose from. Both options will start with a lap around the track.
Options for routes are as follows:
- Start with a lap around the track and continue to walk on the track
- Start with a lap around the track and then walk around a marked route down the Mammoth Road sidewalk and around the Londonderry Middle School, before returning back to LHS. **This route will be marked with balloons and route guides who will keep you on course
Refreshments for the event will be provided by Sunnycrest Farms. In addition, there will be a place to purchase tickets for a chance to win from a long list of donated raffle prizes (click here for list). All proceeds will go directly to the ALS Association.
Admission is free, however, cash donations are welcome!
