NCAA Football Game Returns

After a decade-long hiatus, college football fans can rejoice as the NCAA College Football video game is set to return in the summer of 2024.

The last college football game  was released in 2014, and since then EA Sports discontinued the game due to certain legal issues with a players name, image and likeness. Now with the new NIL deals and college athletes being able to make money from them, EA and the NCAA have opened up a new agreement and EA hopes they can make up for those lost years.

This game was one of the staples of my childhood and I still play the 2014 game occasionally. This game definitely taught me some lessons about losing and also was a part in creating the love for football that I have.

What I’m most excited about is how EA will be able to capture some of the most iconic moments from each campus, like Enter Sandman from Virginia Tech and Penn State white out games. These small details will definitely make or break the game and I’m all here for it.

I am also curious as to how the announcers would work. I would love to see guys like Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee commentate the games which  would hopefully extend the hype the game already has around it.

While the release date has yet to be officially announced, I, along with the thousands of other college football fans, will be waiting for this game to drop and I can only hope that EA can do us justice for all of their lost time.
