The LHS golf team was able to take down both Pinkerton and Spaulding in their Mack Plaque matchup on Sept. 22. Their stellar performance on the course has given Londonderry the first point of many this week.

Senior Graham Killelea believes this match will “help [the team] a ton” going forward in the season.
“This win will definitely boost our confidence and make us more comfortable against good teams,” Killelea said.
Killelea also said that the win on Monday could “shift the momentum” in favor of Londonderry, taking the 1-0 lead over Pinkerton.
“I hope our win pushes the other [Londonderry] teams to step up and do their job,” Killelea said.
However, the win did not just come easy for Killelea and the squad. They put in a lot of preparation prior to the match to make sure they were ready for their rivals.
They worked on what they needed to by “going to the range and putting before heading to the match.” As for himself, Killelea focused on his own pre-match routine.
“I prepared by focusing on my driver,” Killelea said. “I also had my pre-match snack of peanut butter crackers and peanuts.”
Killelea and the team played a victorious match on Monday and are “feeling great after going out and beating a very good Pinkerton team.”
