As the temperatures start to rise and spring sports return to LHS, the softball team aims to dominate N.H. once again.
The Lancers are coming off back-to-back state championships in 2024 and 2025 in which many of their current players contributed to. A couple of those players include seniors Alison Chambers and captain Elisabeth Kearney.
“[Our team has] been playing together for three years now,” Chambers said, “so the team chemistry has been a big factor to our success.”

Chambers has been on the varsity team since her freshman year and has been working with her teammates to continue to improve each year.
“We have been having clinics throughout the winter to stay tuned up,” Chambers said, “and we also have been having scrimmages to get some live action.”
Heading into her senior season, Chambers says the team’s “main goal is to take the third championship in a row.”
“We have been working extra hard this year to achieve our goal,” Chambers said. “And overall, we just want to have fun.”
Like Chambers, Kearney also hopes to use the team chemistry to build on their prior success.
“We have a lot of returners this year,” Kearney said, “which is really nice because we play connected, and we are ready to work hard. Our standards are high and we hold each other accountable.”
Kearney also noted that the team did not take the off-season to rest, but to keep up with their game.
“A lot of the girls play travel softball in the offseason which helps us stay focused and motivated,” Kearney said. “Everyone puts in some work even if they are busy playing another sport because it’s important to get reps in for the season.”
Kearney’s goals for the season are to not only just win games, but also to “play together.”
“We will achieve our goals by working hard in practice and connecting with one another on and off the field because we are a family,” Kearney said.
