As the winter season nears its end, the girls basketball team looks to finish their season on top. But, before they can compete for the title, they must put their focus on tonight’s semifinal game against Bedford.
Londonderry has already faced Bedford twice this season, falling just short in both matchups. In the first contest in January, they fell 43-38. The second game ended in a 57-46 loss, which happened over February break.

Senior Brooke Eacrett and junior Gemma Murray hope to lead their team past Bedford this time around and punch their ticket to the title game after coming up short of a championship last year. The game will take place tonight in Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m.
“We have worked hard and pushed each other the past few practices,” Eacrett said. “We have also gone through a lot of game-like scenarios and situations we will face to prepare us for tonight’s game.”
The team’s preparation and comfortability in games has set them apart from their competition over the past few years, leading to their success. They reached the championship last season and now hope to return and finish the job.
“Tonight is a statement game,” Murray said. “A win like this will be huge for us and show everyone who we really are.”
