The first ever Lancers Speak Up Day is tomorrow. April 25, 2022.

Lancers Speak Up Day is scheduled for tomorrow, April 24, 2022, from 8:50 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Lancers Speak Up is a student created movement “for the students by the students”, which helps to raise awareness of mental health at LHS.

The event focuses on promoting mental health resources. It is an event for students and staff to learn about resources from outside of LHS and the clubs/organizations at LHS that contribute to the improvement of mental health. 

Following months of planning, the event will be fully executed tomorrow.

To accommodate for the event, all class periods will be shortened to 25 minutes each.

The schedule for the day of the event is as follows:

 

  • 7:20 a.m.- students go to A-C period
  • 8:55 a.m.- Students report to Gym
  • 9:00 a.m.- Scarlett Lewis (speaker) talks
  • 10:00 a.m.- Students separate by class and go off to partake in different planned activities
  • Underclassmen stay in the gym after the speaker. At 10:55 a.m., freshmen will go to the side parking lot and sophomores will go to the track field. At 11:20 a.m. the classes will switch between side parking lot and track field
  • Upperclassmen go outside after the speaker. Juniors will go to the side parking lot while seniors to the the track field. At 10:25 a.m. juniors and seniors will switch locations. At 10:55, all underclassmen head back into the gym. 
  • 11:45 a.m.- Students return to D period classes
