A combination of point tallies and teamwork is what led to the boys’ track team placing fifth at the Division I State Championship meet on Feb. 7, at Dartmouth’s Leverone Field House.
Team Results
The boys placed fifth in the state for Division I with a total score of 25 points.
4×800
The 4×800 team placed fifth in the state with a time of 8:39.25 scoring 2 points for the team. The team consisted of seniors Bailey Hamilton, Josh Wasserman, juniors Kyle Freire and Chris Zaino.
4×400
Seniors Derek Davies, Mark Gigliotti, Trevor Guay and junior Chris Zaino were all part of the successful 4x400m team with a time of 3:38.86 who placed fourth in the state scoring 4 points for the team.
Shot Put
Senior Kyle Foden placed third in the state for shot out with a distance of 47’ 3”.
300m dash
Senior Trevor Guay placed second in the state for the 300m dash with a time of 37.02 seconds.
Long Jump
Guay also placed fourth in the state after jumping a distance of 20’ 7” where he scored 4 points for the team in this event. He accumulated many points for the team this meet.
