Many personal records and individual victories led to girls track team’s success during the Division I State Championship Meet on Feb. 7, at Dartmouth’s Leverone Field House.
Team Results
The Girls placed 3rd behind Bedford and Bishop Guertin with a total score of 50 points.
55m dash
Senior Yorgelis Ortiz took first in the 55m dash with a time of 7.30 second.
600m run
Junior Gretchen McGrath placed first in the 600m run with a time of 1:39.18.
These two girls weren’t the only two for Londonderry to take first place titles at the meet.
4x200m
The Girls 4x200m relay team included seniors Yorgelis Ortiz, Andrea Wooldridge, and juniors Ellie Goodspeed and Gretchen McGrath. They finished with a time of 1:48.48 almost a whole second faster than the second place team.
4x400m and 4×800
Other outstanding placings were from the 4x400m relay with seniors June Cranmer, Courtney Guay, and juniors Kaitlyn Marchant, and Gretchen McGrath, where they took fifth with a time of 4:18.27. The 4×800 relay including sophomores Kalin Gregoire and Alex Seeley, junior Bella Ziolek, and senior Madison McKivergan also finished in fifth place with a time of 10:14.92.
Long Jump
Senior Yorgelis Ortiz placed second in the long jump by reaching 17’ 7.5”
High Jump
Senior Yorgelis Ortiz also placed third in the high jump after clearing 5 feet.
